When a price changes before the bet is accepted
A fixture price, a parked slip price, a reconfirmation, and formal acceptance are different. Rules vary by operator.

365cuci.de publishes this guide for adult readers in Malaysia. It does not accept bets, and it does not settle them. The moment that matters here is the gap after a price has been tapped and before any business has accepted a bet. Rules differ by operator. Nothing below promises that a bet can be cancelled, refunded, or settled in a particular way.
Four different numbers
A fixture page can show a price for a selection. That figure is what the screen is quoting now. The UK Gambling Commission’s in-play guide says prices are revised continuously from the information and liabilities the operator holds, and that markets can be suspended. A number you can see is not yet a contract.
After a selection is added to a slip, the slip may keep the price from the moment it was added. That parked figure can already be old. The fixture may have moved, or the market may have been suspended, while the slip still displays the earlier quote. The parked price is a draft. It is not acceptance.
Some systems then ask the reader to confirm a different price. Under the UK Gambling Commission’s Remote Technical Standards, requirement 2C, a remote gambling system licensed under that regime must let the customer choose whether to accept price fluctuations that occur after the bet is requested. If the customer has not chosen to accept changes automatically, a bet whose price has changed must be reoffered before it is accepted. The standards were last updated on 21 January 2025. They apply to operators covered by those UK standards. They are not a rule of every sportsbook, and they are not a rule of this website. Another operator may not offer that choice at all.
Formal acceptance is the confirmation that the bet has been made. The in-play guide places that confirmation after the delay, not at the moment the price was tapped. The Commission’s public guide, updated 21 June 2023, says a bet with a licensed gambling business is a contract with that business, and that the business may refuse a bet. There is no general right that requires the business to accept. A price still sitting on a slip, or a reconfirmation you have not answered, is not that confirmation.
Why the gap exists
On in-play markets, the same UK guide says operators set a delay so that a number of seconds can pass between the request and confirmation that a bet has been made. The stated reason is that the quoted price should reflect the state of the event. The length of that delay is not fixed. The guide says it varies by operator, by event, and by the latency of the data the operator uses. A reader cannot learn the length of the gap from this page.
The same guide distinguishes a sportsbook delay, which the operator uses to keep its own price current, from a betting-exchange delay, which is described as protection for the exchange’s users. The screen in front of you may be either kind of product, or a different product entirely. Read the label on that screen. This guide will not give the clicks for a named app.
What this page will not decide
If the business refuses the request, withdraws the offer, or asks for a new confirmation, the outcome is that business’s decision under its own terms. The Commission says those terms have to be available before you decide, and that changed circumstances around a bet are part of what the terms should explain. This website has not read the terms of the operator you use, and it cannot tell you whether a refused request is later reinstated.
Settlement, voiding, and any refund are also outside this page. They belong to the operator’s published rules. Do not treat a price you once saw, or a slip you did not confirm, as money that must be returned.
Two earlier guides stop before this gap. How to read a match page is about the fixture, the market name, and the price on the page. What a displayed price means is the odds guide: the figure is a possible return, and a live market can move. Neither of those pages is the acceptance step.
If you are looking at a slip now
Which figure is the bet?
Only the figure the operator has confirmed as accepted. The fixture price and the parked slip price can both be stale. A reconfirmation prompt is a new offer, not a completed bet.
Must the operator take the price I tapped?
No. Under the UK public guide, a licensed business may refuse a bet. Other countries’ operators are not bound by that guide, but this page still will not promise that any particular business must accept.
Does a delay mean the bet is already on?
No. The in-play guide describes the delay as the time between the request and confirmation. Until that confirmation exists in the operator’s record, the request has not been accepted.
